Monjardin organic chickpeas are a store cupboard staple – perfect for Spanish stews or speedy hummus. They are cooked until tender but still retain some bite so theyre delicious in salads or roasted with olive oil and salt for a healthy, crunchy snack.
Monjardin organic chickpeas are produced in Navarra in northern Spain. They are prepared with only water and a little salt, cooked in the same manner as the Spanish do at home. Low in fat and high in fibre, these chickpeas are ideal for vegetarian soups, curries and casseroles. In Spain, they are often simmered with spinach and chorizo or added to a rich sauce made with onions, garlic, tomatoes and paprika.
