Description
Canned lychees make a great, easy dessert. Consisting simply of peeled and stoned lychees preserved in a light syrup, they have a sweet, distinctive flavour and texture. The lychee is native to China and has long been cultivated there as a highly prized delicacy, with records of its cultivation dating back to 1059AD. For a refreshing dessert after a Chinese meal, serve chilled canned lychees either on their own or with almond bean curd. Alternately, combine them with cubed orange and green melon for a simple, elegant fruit salad.
