Tenorios tuna fillet with lemon and piri-piri is a zingy addition to Portuguese lunch spreads. The tuna fish is canned with olive oil, providing a rich, rounded flavour. Tenorio tuna is the most premium tinned fish from Portuguese producer Cofaca. The range is famously more flavoursome than tuna youd usually find in supermarkets. Francisco Rodriguez Tenrio was a pioneer in the canned tuna industry, using only the best cuts of tuna for his preserves. He started his business in Portugal in 1880 producing his first product “Tuna in escabeche. Today, his tinned fish is still produced in the Azores, at Cofaco factories, using the same high-quality and artisanal methods over a century later.
