Description
Sweet soy sauce is a great addition to your Chinese store cupboard. The thick, dark brown sauce which is made from soy beans has a salty-sweet taste. Use it in marinades to give colour and flavour to ingredients like chicken thighs, belly pork or prawns or as a dipping sauce for dim sum or Hainanese chicken rice. It combines well with other Chinese flavourings, such as chilli oil, soy sauce, sesame oil and rice wine making it a versatile ingredient to have to hand.
Lee Kum Kee was founded by a cook from Guangdong village who discovered oyster sauce in 1888. Known for the range and quality of its Chinese sauces, the company is now a global brand, widely used in Chinese restaurants around the world.
