Description
Kikkomans mirin-style cooking seasoning is sweet, tangy and rich in umami. You can add a splash to stir fries and dipping sauces for dumplings and tempura.
This mirin-style sauce is made using Kikkomans natural brewing process. In Japan, its known as mirin-fu. Traditional mirin contains about 14% alcohol, while this sauce has just 0.3%. This gives it a milder flavour and subtle sweetness.
Use this mirin-style sauce to make marinades for meat and fish. The sauce caramelises as the food cooks, creating a sweet, sticky glaze. Try mixing it with soy sauce, sugar and sake to make a simple teriyaki sauce.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigerate after opening.
