Description
Berbere is a fragrant spice blend used in many Ethiopian and Eritrean dishes. It adds a warm, earthy heat to curries and slow-cooked stews.
In Ethiopia, berbere recipes are handed down from generation to generation. Most families will have their own special blend. Its used in marinades and in traditional dishes like misir wot, a richly spiced lentil stew.
Add it to curries to add instant depth of flavour or blend with lamb mince for a spicy twist on the classic sausage roll. You can mix it with garlic and olive oil for a quick marinade. Toss with chicken thighs and potatoes for a midweek tray bake.
The spice blend comes in two sizes:

Ingredients: Cayenne pepper, fenugreek, paprika, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, cardamon, allspice and cloves
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.
