Gnocchetti Sardi is a small, ridged pasta shape from Sardinia. It is also known as malloreddus. The little ridges help sauces to cling to the pasta.
This unique pasta shape is perfect for speedy suppers. Toss it with pistachio pesto or a classic amatriciana sauce.
For something more indulgent, make a white ragu with Italian sausages, chilli and fennel. Instead of tomatoes, the sauce is made with wine, stock and a splash of cream.
Gnocchetti is also used in pasta bakes, topped with cheese and crunchy breadcrumbs.
