Cherry Rocher Canneles With Rhum, 410g

Description

Cannels are small, cork-shaped cakes flavoured with rum and vanilla. A speciality of Bordeaux in south-west France, they are popular across the country as a sweet treat after dinner. The cakes are baked at a high heat in a ridged pan which gives them their distinctive fluted shape and a golden, caramelised crust.

Cherry Rochers cannels are macerated in Caribbean rum, ready to be eaten straight from the jar. The rum-spiked syrup keeps the cakes moist and enhances their subtle vanilla flavour, so that each bite is as delicious as the last. Serve them with coffee, a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of tangy crme frache.
